Makassar State University Development Economics Study Program has signed a memorandum of Agreement (MoA) With Management and Science University (MSU) Malaysia and Universiti Malaya.

The Development Economics Study Program which is part of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Makassar State University (FEB UNM) made a visit and entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Management & Science University (MSU) and Universiti Malaya (UM) on the MSU and UM Malaysia campuses , on Wednesday (23/3/2023).

The contents of the cooperation agreement between the universities are related to the implementation of the Tridharma Program of higher education, such as student exchanges and guest lectures, research collaborations, and joint international conferences.

For two days the visit was in two different places, namely the first day at MSU and then the second day at UM.

The delegation from FEB UNM was represented by Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs (WD I) Samirah Dunakhir, S.E., M.Buss., Ph.D., Ak., CA., then from the Management Study Program represented by the Head of Management Study Program Dr. Agung Widhi Kurniawan, S.T., Head of Accounting Study Program (Head of Study Program) Mukhammad Idrus, S.E., Ak., M.Sc., , M.M., and Head of Development Economics Study Program Andi Samsir, S.Pd., M.Sc.

Meanwhile, USM was represented by the Director of the Management Research Center Prof. Dr. Indang Ariati Ariffin and Director for Cooperation Ch.M. Eva Tan Lee Yin, M.Sc.

Then from UM, the signing of the MoA was represented by the Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Prof. Dr. Zaharah Hussin.

Head of Economics Development  Study Program Andi Samsir hopes that this collaboration is the first step in developing FEB as a leading faculty in the fields of economics and business.

In addition, WD I FEB Samirah Dunakhir expressed his gratitude for the collaboration between the two universities. According to him, this collaboration can provide great benefits for the development of education and research for UNM lecturers.

“We hope that this collaboration can improve the quality of FEB UNM education and provide wider opportunities for our students and lecturers to develop their potential and work in the fields of education and research,” he said.

“It is hoped that with this collaboration, we hope that there will be an increase in the quality of FEB UNM, especially study programs that are currently in the accreditation process, enrich each other’s experiences and knowledge of students and improve the quality of the tri dharma higher education lecturers at each university,” he hoped.

Responding to this, the Director of the MSU Management Research Center Prof. Dr. Indang Ariati Ariffin also welcomed this collaboration and hoped to make a positive contribution to the progress of the two universities

“We are very pleased to be able to collaborate with Makassar State University and hope that the programs that will be implemented can provide significant benefits for both universities and the surrounding community,” he said.

In line with this, UM Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Prof. Dr. Zaharah also welcomed the collaboration between UM and UNM.

“We hope that the programs we have planned will be implemented in the near future so that they can bring positive benefits to both institutions and the community,” he said.

It is hoped that through this collaboration it can make a major contribution to the development of the intellectual generation in building a nation with character in various sectors that is able to compete in the global world.
